TELEVISION BROADCAST STANDARDS REVIEW SERVICES
Reviewing a script is our first opportunity to ascertain the tone and essence of a show.
After reading the script, we provide notes on vulgar language, pejorative terms, sexually suggestive language, and violence and/or nudity concerns before your crew begins shooting.
The suitability of a program is conveyed to the public via its displayed rating and audio disclaimer at the beginning of a show. Making sure the ratings accurately reflect the program content is one of our primary goals, so the network and producers remain in sync with FCC requirements and audiences/advertisers know what to expect.
Episode notes address potential issues regarding language, sexual situations, and violence for both scripted and unscripted shows. Careful consideration is given in our recommendations so that we maintain respect for the creative process, the story, and character development while maintaining an awareness of audience and advertiser sensibilities.
