Sullivan Compliance Company has been in existence since 1992 and has participated in the creation of the game and competition structure, the rules and the in-studio production design for most of the best known and most popular programs in this genre. This includes Wheel of Fortune, JEOPARDY!, Who Wants to be a Millionaire, Deal or No Deal and a long list of other productions.
Our management team comes out of the NBC Network Compliance and Practices Department, widely recognized as the most professional as well as the most “producer friendly” of all the Network Practices Departments and the training ground for the people who still run this function at NBC and FOX. Our President, Alan Gerson, was the head of the Standards and Practices Department at NBC for 17 years and our EVP Alex Hendrie, got his training at NBC Compliance and Practices and has guided the operations of Sullivan Compliance since 1993. We bring a deep and broad understanding of Television programming and production and a problem solving attitude to our work.
We communicate “solutions” not just “concerns” and stand up for our Clients should they face a challenge or a charge from a disgruntled contestant, audience member or a governmental or regulatory authority. Our presence in the Studio during tapings and live programs allows us to vouch for the fact that the programming we supervise is produced fairly, honestly, according to the rules of the competition and in the manner described to the public. Our participation in writing and/or reviewing the program rules allows us to help our Clients enjoy a smooth production experience by avoiding mistakes or decisions that our experience has shown us can and should be avoided.
Our strong working partnership with our Clients allows for recommendation and discussion and consensus agreement with respect to resolving any particular situation that might arise during the course of production with the minimum disruption to the program flow or the production schedule. We represent the best interests of the Program, the Distribution Network, the Contestants and the Audience and provide assurance to all parties that the programs will meet the entertainment objectives for which they are presented without unresolved controversy or challenge.
