Alan H. Gerson, President & CEO

Alan Gerson has had a long and distinguished career in television, consumer product marketing, live event marketing and Online media and marketing. A long time senior executive at NBC he served as the head of NBC’s Program Standards and Broadcast Administration unit with additional responsibility for business development and interactive programming and promotions for the NBC Television Network. Gerson left NBC to become Executive Vice President of the Home Shopping Network and President of HSN’s Diversified Marketing and Media Services Division. He has also held the positions of Sr. VP of Television and business development at Ticketmaster Corp, and President and C.O.O. of both Vertical Branding, Inc (VBDG:OB) and RONCO Inventions. Gerson has also had a successful career as an Internet entrepreneur, co-founding several important Internet marketing related companies, including Digitrends, LLC and iMedia Communications, Inc.

While at NBC, Gerson not only served as NBC’s Chief Compliance Officer, but also played a pioneering role in the establishing of Network Marketing as a significant business focus for NBC, and helped create and oversee the first Interactive programming and promotional campaigns. At HSN, Gerson created a wide range of innovative promotional and brand marketing programs targeted at HSN’s consumer audience.

Gerson has also been a pioneer in the Online marketing industry. He served as Sr. VP Television and Business Development at Ticketmaster Corp. when they launched their Online ticketing service in 1994. He acted as a media and marketing consultant for such companies as Apple Computer, Home Shopping Television, GmbH, (Germany’s first Home Shopping Network) and Transactional Marketing Partners and thereafter co-founded Interactive Marketing, Inc and Digitrends LLC in 1998. In 2001 Gerson was one of the co-founders of iMedia Communications, Inc, which has become the leading online publishing and executive level conference company focused on the Online Marketing and Advertising industries. He also served under executive consulting agreements, as President of the Marketing Products Group at Softbank Interactive Marketing and as President and CEO of Worldsite Networks, a business market focused ISP.

Gerson holds a law degree from Fordham University and a B.A. from the State University of New York, College at Plattsburgh. He has been active in Industry Associations including the Federal Communications Bar Association, the Electronic Retailing Association, the Direct Marketing Association and the National Association of Television Program Executives. He also serves on the Board of the CHIME Institute, which operates two educational programs serving special needs children and two LAUSD Charter schools dedicated to Inclusive Model Education.
